Bar Boqueria

We got our seat for 5 fairly quickly during lunch! Staff were all super warm and friendly - especially Mady who sorted out orders perfectly! If our stomachs would allow we would’ve gotten the entire menu! Here’s a snippet of what we ordered - definitely get the croquettes (we got iberico) - the garlic gambas!! - grilled lamb ribs - warm prawns salad - Galician octopus w hummus - grilled squid & the seafood platter for 2 pax. Everything was SUPERB. Would recommend if you’re looking to grab a bite!

Bar Boqueria completely captivated us the moment we arrived. There was something about the place that just pulled us in right away — the warm glow, the buzz of people enjoying themselves, and that unmistakable Barcelona energy. It felt lively and exciting, but still welcoming, like you’re stepping into the kind of spot where good things are guaranteed to happen. Inside, the atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a market-side bar: vibrant, authentic, and full of character. You can feel the rhythm of the city in here — the chatter, the movement, the smell of food coming off the bar — yet it never feels chaotic. It’s the perfect place to pause, soak everything in, and let the experience unfold. The food and drinks matched that first impression. Everything we had was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. It’s the kind of simple, confident tapas-style cooking that doesn’t need to show off because the quality speaks for itself. Portions were satisfying, prices felt fair for the location, and the overall value was excellent. Service was another strong point: friendly, quick, and well organized even with the constant flow of guests. We felt looked after without being rushed, which is not easy in a busy spot like this. The bar was clean, well kept, and run with real professionalism. Bottom line: Bar Boqueria is one of those places that turns a casual stop into a highlight. Great vibe, great quality, great energy — and absolutely worth visiting if you’re anywhere near the market. We left happy, full, and already talking about coming back.

It was our first tapas restaurant for our first Spain trip and the food did not disappoint! Our server, Johan, was really friendly and provided great service. The other staff, especially Melody, were very friendly and welcoming. Food and sangria was great! 10/10. Definitely recommend ordering the Chipirones Fritos, patatas bravas and zamburiña. Will definitely visit again!

5 stars for the food and even more for the service! Julie provided such a warm, friendly atmosphere for our meal. Everything we ordered was delicious and arrived at the table fresh and hot. You can tell this team cares about quality. Highly recommended!

This was our best meal at La Boqueria market! We ordered the fried squid, scallops, asparagus, gambas, steak and washed it all down with sangria. Everything was pretty solid. I would go back in a heartbeat for the grilled scallops alone, probably one of the freshest tasting scallops I had, sweet, plump and juicy, and cooked perfectly. 10/10 would recommend!

This was my second visit, and it was just as great as the first! Being right in the middle of the market gives it such a unique vibe compared to a regular restaurant. The staff are always friendly and welcoming with big smiles. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. The grilled Iberian pork with potatoes was so tasty that I can still remember the flavor. Definitely coming back again!

5 out of 5! Nice place, amazing food, a tad pricey. If is in your budget great, if not, other options available. The food is incredible and comes with a pricey tag but worth every penny! The service makes it an even better experience (Sharif was funny and helpful). Of course this is not local food, you will hardly see any locals here, the place is mostly aimed at tourists who want to get some good Spanish food without having to work on learning the language. Waiters are bilingual and some we heard spoke more than 3 languages making it very accessible. The place gets busy, is a sort of finish your meal and let the next person use the seat. Quick turnaround! A nice find in the midst of a variety of options.
